RAF Association Story Book Wings Project
On Sunday 9th September cadets from 1985 (Flitwick) Squadron ATC will be taking part in the RAFA Colour Run in aid of RAF Story Book Wings Project.
Story Book Wings is the RAF Association’s initiative for serving RAF parents who have to spend time away from their children – whether they are away on deployment or working away during the week. Storybook Wings has been an outstanding success with over 2,300 families using this free service that helps bring Mums and Dads “home” for at least a little while to read a story at a time that can be confusing and upsetting for their children. The RAF Association provides recording equipment to parents for them to record their chosen stories. Once edited, a soundtrack is added to give each story a special feel. Sound effects and music are added to create a really special keepsake. The completed CD is then sent to the children in a personalised CD cover, and is ready for them to listen to whenever they like.
The cadets are aiming to raise £300 for the charity. A
